Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Gluten-Friendly Lunch
While taking in the sights of the distant planet of Batuu at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, one must be sure to sample the local delicacies. And where better to do just that than at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.
If you are looking for an allergy-friendly meal, they may have the meal for you. On my first visit, I checked out this Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo gluten-friendly lunch.
One dish that can be made allergy-friendly for most everyone is the Roasted Endorian Tip-Yip Salad. Marinated Chicken, Mixed Greens, Roasted Seasonal Vegetables, Quinoa, Pumpkin Seeds, and Green Curry Ranch are all combined into a colorful salad. The best part is this counts as a gluten-friendly and dairy-friendly option.
They can also put the pumpkin seeds and green curry ranch dressing on the side, but that is all that they can put on the side. They can leave off just about anything else if you request it, but otherwise, it has to go onto the salad when it is served. This Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo gluten-friendly lunch is also fine for people with a fish/shellfish and peanut allergy. This meal is not appropriate for a paleo or keto diet, and getting ingredients at this time is not possible.
The salad is rather plain, with the lettuce feeling a bit out of place in the dish. The chicken is fantastic, especially when paired with the green curry ranch. The vegetables were a mix of cauliflower and what I think were different types of squash. The texture of the dish is a bit across the board with the crunch of a salad, but everything else feels off when you realize the meal is meant to be a salad. Not only that but everything on the dish is cold except for the chicken leaving an odd temperature to the dish. While it is probably the most allergy-friendly option on the menu, I think it leaves quite a bit to be desired.
For a drink, I opted for trying the Phattro, which was a mix of Gold Peak Unsweetened Tea, Odwalla Lemonade, and Desert Pear. This drink is fantastic. It tastes as if you were drinking a sort of berry melon punch. Perfectly refreshing, but I would ask for them to go easy on the ice.
Galaxy’s Edge Desserts – Not Allergy-Friendly
If you are looking for a cheat-worthy dessert, however, look elsewhere. The Oi-Oi Puff and Batuu-Bon look much like the desserts one would find in Pandora at Disney World. The Oi-Oi Puff is a raspberry cream puff topped with a passion fruit mousse, some black seeds, a green foam, chocolate coin, and raspberry jam. This is definitely the better of the two desserts but is still rather lacking. The puff is pretty good, but the raspberry cream is overly bitter, and the mousse is lacking flavor.
The Batuu-Bon, on the other hand, is a chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse and coffee custard. It is also topped with the chocolate coin and green foam and served with cream. The cake is very bland and very dense. I actually had to use some force to break the cake. The dome of mousse and coffee is good but pretty bland as well. The green foam on both dishes is pretty plain, adding nothing but décor to them. The jams or creams served with the desserts are not bad but are so small that they do not add anything to the dish because of how hard it is to get anything from them. I would recommend skipping the desserts, especially since they do not have anything allergy friendly.
Overall getting a Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo gluten-friendly lunch – especially one that meets the needs of a paleo or keto diet – is harder than it is for breakfast. Unfortunately, the options are fairly limited and do not stand out as impressive as the world around them.
