The Void – Ralph Breaks VR
To kick off my fabulous birthday weekend in California, my son booked us tickets to the new Ralph Breaks the Internet virtual reality experience in Downtown Disney. If you have never been to The Void – Ralph Breaks VR will blow you away. Seriously, it is beyond anything I have ever experienced.
I remember going to DisneyQuest when my children were young. We took our seats each visit and strapped on those heavy helmets for Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride. There was a Virtual Jungle Cruise where you paddled away in rocking boats. These were only two of the many fun exhibits in a day filled with virtual reality fun (and often headaches).
On December 16, 2017, The Void opened its doors in Disney Springs with a Star Wars attraction. I will admit that I keep forgetting to go experience this attraction when I am in Orlando. That will not happen next time. After trying out The Void – Ralph Breaks VR, you will not be able to keep me away. I cannot wait to attempt Star Wars Secrets of the Empire.
Of course, my son was not about to give away a single detail of what was in store for me. He had previously experienced the Star Wars attraction, so knew what to expect. I, on the other hand, only had my previous DisneyQuest experience to go by. This is not the same. Like my son, I will not give away any secrets; you have to experience this for yourself.
As we entered, he kept telling all the many, many employees we interacted with not to tell me anything. We were ushered into a strange room with hanging vest-type contraptions and helmets. After suiting up, we were directed into another room. From there, the fun begins.
During your time in The Void – Ralph Breaks VR, you will interact with Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz as they delve deep into the depths of the internet. Along the way, you will move from place to place, and the visual sights you come across will astound you. At times I actually felt as though if I leaned too far, I would fall deep into the internet. Once I even made him go first because the path seemed too ominous – it is that real!
Upon arriving at Pancake Milkshake Diner, it will be time to engage in an awesome food fight. Your enemies – hordes of evil bunnies and kitties out to destroy you. Go ahead, hit them with flying cupcakes. I cannot remember the last time I had so much fun. You can enjoy this attraction if you are at least ten years of age and 48” tall. Whether in Downtown Disney in Anaheim, or Disney Springs in Orlando, make certain to add this attraction to your to-do list.
