Pop Century Paleo Breakfast
For years, our favorite on-site hotel at Walt Disney World has been Disney’s Pop Century Resort. I will admit that I start to cry as soon as I turn down the street and see the very first sign. When the guard at the gate says, “Welcome Home,” I know it to be true. Unfortunately, now that my little doggie is getting older, I like to keep her with us which means staying off property. How I wish Pop Century was pet-friendly. I will tell you this – when you are on a special diet, you cannot beat a Pop Century paleo breakfast.
What makes eating breakfast at this resort so special? Without a doubt, it is Chef James and Chef Jose. Now, the last time I was there, Chef James was over helping out at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. However, I will tell you that of all the resorts I have tried, no one comes close to making the breakfasts I get at Pop Century.
I have had many a Pop Century Paleo Breakfast over the years. Every one of them has been fantastic. I will tell you that the chefs try to keep a bottle of extra virgin olive oil on hand for guests who request it. They also have pure butter for cooking purposes, as well.
All you have to do is ask to speak with one of the chefs, and they will customize the breakfast for your needs. Warning – it takes longer to make your allergy-friendly meal, so let them know if you want everyone else’s food to come out at the same time. Otherwise, the rest of your party will be long done before you even get your meal.
In one of the photos, I opted for scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage. The other Pop Century Paleo Breakfast contained two eggs over medium (cooked to perfection), bacon, tomatoes, and hash browns. I know, potatoes are not on the Paleo Diet. Sorry, I could not resist that day. They were cooked specially in EVOO for me. It is worth the trip if you are not staying at this resort to stop in for breakfast. If you are following a gluten-free diet, check out this blog for other breakfast options. Oh, and tell Chef James and Chef Jose that Lori says hi.
