For an early morning pick me up in Disney’s California Adventure, be sure to head over for Flo’s V8 Café breakfast in Car’s Land. You will find it just down the street of Radiator Springs in the large gas station. There is plenty of seating both inside and out thanks to the fact that it is a counter service restaurant. You can always find the menu for the time of day located right outside the main doors. For breakfast, there are not many allergy-friendly options. However, if you are trying to hit up either Guardian’s of the Galaxy Mission Breakout, The Incredicoaster, or the conveniently next-door Radiator Springs Racers, you cannot go wrong.
When I went, there was only really one option for breakfast that fit into a gluten-free or Paleo Diet. So, the All American Breakfast it was. I went for the Flo’s V8 Café breakfast gluten-free version, which replaces the regular breakfast roll with one of the gluten-free rolls that Disneyland uses. It is a rather simple meal with just scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, and the roll. Overall, the meal is nothing exceptional. The eggs and potatoes were somewhat lackluster with the bacon being the saving grace. For the Paleo version of the meal, you need to leave off the potatoes and roll from the meal. However, I would recommend trying to see if they can substitute fruit instead because the dish would seem rather empty.
The real selling point to getting Flo’s V8 Café breakfast here is just the convenience of being able to ride any of the more popular rides first thing in the morning while the wait times are still low. If you are looking for a broader menu, I recommend heading over to one of the many restaurants in Disneyland. After all, it is a short walk between California Adventure and Disneyland, so going back and forth is easy.
