Top 18 Healthy Grab ‘n’ Go Snacks at Sunshine Seasons
A visit to The Land Pavilion at Epcot means more than flying on Soarin’ or taking a boat ride to see how food is grown. If you have not visited Sunshine Seasons lately, you are missing out on a lot of delicious options.
We know that there is so much to see at Epcot that sometimes you do not want to take time out for a full meal. Perhaps you are just looking for a small, healthy snack to tide you over. Whether you are gluten-free, on a paleo or keto diet, or have specific allergy concerns, you can find something to eat at Sunshine Seasons.
Our top 18 healthy snacks at Sunshine Seasons are all part of their Grab ‘n’ Go quick service options. You literally just grab them and go check out at the register. In our list below, you will find both savory and sweet selections to enjoy yourself or share with others. Best of all, if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, most of these qualify for a snack credit.
Top Savory Snacks at Sunshine Seasons
Our first option for savory snacks at Sunshine Seasons is a Caprese Salad. It contains mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, white balsamic vinegar, and pesto. I do wish they would have listed what was in the pesto. The price for the Caprese Salad is $5.79 and counts as a snack credit on the dining plan.
You can also opt for a small $4.99 Side Salad containing mixed field greens, romaine, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers. Dressing packets are available. You can also ask for some olive oil and balsamic vinegar from the kitchen.
The Tomato Cucumber Salad features cucumbers, grape tomatoes, red onion, parsley, salt, white balsamic vinegar, and a blend of olive and canola oils. Please, Disney, get rid of the canola and go back to 100% olive oil. This selection is only $3.49.
Next is the Fruit & Cheese Plate which contains Strawberries, Swiss Cheese, Cheddar Cheese, and Pepper Jack Cheese. It may also contain grapes as per the website although not on the label. The price is $6.69 and also counts towards a snack on the dining plan. You could consider this for both the savory and sweet sections.
Another good gluten-free option at Sunshine Seasons is the Hummus & Vegetables. Here you get a container filled with carrots, celery, and tomatoes. The Hummus contains chickpeas, canola and olive oil, lemon juice, sesame oil, white pepper, salt, cumin, garlic, and parsley. This snack credit option is only $4.49.
The name “heavenly” certainly describes the authentic mini San Marzano tomatoes. These natural delights are greenhouse grown and fun to share with others. As the bag says, they are prewashed and ready to eat. Go ahead, pop one in your mouth.
The Harvest Mix is another sweet/savory crossover filled with nuts and dried fruit.
Top Sweet Snacks at Sunshine Seasons
There is nothing better on a hot day than a refreshing Fruit Cup. The fruit could be seasonal, and, on this visit, contained honeydew, cantalope, and grapes. There is also a container of fresh pineapple – an excellent choice if you find yourself overeating at Epcot and need something to help your metabolism. Pineapple is an excellent fat burner. The cost of each fruit cup is $4.19 which also makes them a good option for a dining plan snack credit.
If you raced out of your hotel without breakfast, the $5.49 Overnight Oats are an excellent option. They would be perfect if only Disney would source certified gluten-free oats. I would not recommend getting this if you are gluten-free due to celiac or an allergy. The ingredients are plain coconut milk, vanilla flavoring (why not extract?), quick oats, chia seeds, agave syrup, blueberries, and almonds. With all the controversy as to whether agave syrup is good or bad, I would prefer they used honey or maple syrup.
You can also choose between strawberry and blueberry Oikos Greek Yogurt. One of my favorite options that will meet any paleo or keto diet is the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. Here you get a refreshing beverage of blended strawberries, bananas, honey, and lime juice. The smoothie is $5.49.
Top Bagged or Packaged Snacks at Sunshine Seasons
Children tend to like snacks they can eat out of a bag. Luckily, Walt Disney World makes it possible to feel good about grabbing a bag off the shelf and giving it to your child. (Even if that child is yourself!) You can certainly feel a bit better knowing that your child is getting an assortment of vitamins when eating Mickey shaped Veggie Chips. A wonderful allergy friendly option is Organic Fruity Bears that are made with real juice. The Veggie Chips are $2.99 per bag. I will update this blog once I get the price of the Fruity Bears.
Sunshine Seasons also has some tasty vegan and gluten-free, non-GMO options such as Sweet Potato Tortilla Chips and Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips. Both chips are $3.49. If your sweet tooth is acting up, you can opt for a gluten-free chocolate chip cookie for $3.29 or gluten and sugar-free fudge brownie for $4.29. All selections here are also on the Disney Dining Plan as snack credits.
