BaseLine Tap House – A Hidden Gem
Tucked away in a corner of Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Grand Avenue you will find the wonderful BaseLine Tap House. More of a lounge than a restaurant, the dining options here are extremely limited. However, if you are on a gluten-free, paleo, or keto diet, you might want to stop by for a quick bite.
The current menu at BaseLine Tap House consists of:
- Bavarian Pretzel served with Beer-Cheese Fondue and Spicy Mustard (not gluten-friendly at all)
- Coffee-rubbed Rib-eye Steak Puff with Olive Salad (new since our last visit)
- Spiced Almonds
- California Cheese and Charcuterie Plate
It is the last item, the California Cheese and Charcuterie Plate we want to discuss. At BaseLine Tap House, this platter consists of the following:
- Toma Farmstead Cheese
- Point Reyes Original Blue Cheese
- Laura Chenel’s Sonoma Goat Cheese
- Chorizo and Calabrese Salami
- Cornichons
- Grapes
- Toasted Baguettes
In the photo above, you will see the platter as it comes, complete with the toasted baguettes and three slices of Toma Farmstead Cheese. In the photo below, you will notice the substitution of gluten-free bread crisps as well as extra Toma Farmstead Cheese in place of the Point Reyes Original Blue Cheese which I do not like.
One of the nice things about this plate is that it is easily customizable to include more or less of an item that you wish.
Of course, I had to try one of their drink offerings while I was there (for the sake of review, LOL). I selected the California Sunset, a mix of Absolut Berri Acai Vodka, Southern Comfort, Orange Juice, Sweet-and-Sour with a float of Pomegranate Juice. It was a delicious and refreshing as it sounds.
BaseLine Tap House is known for its extensive selection of California Beers. You can even create your own beer flight of 4 beers (5 oz each) of your choice for only $12.00. At the time of this review, the 16 oz beers were $9.00, and the 22 oz beers were $10.25. Ace Space Bloody Orange Hard Cider, St. Francis Chardonnay, Line 39 Cabernet Sauvignon, and an Exotic Margarita round out the menu offerings.
I highly recommend a stop at BaseLine Tap House if you have never been there. You can see a complete listing of all menu items and beers here.
