Tangierine Café Gluten-Friendly Meal
One of the best parts of visiting Epcot is the abundance of food options. You can eat your way around the world – literally – trying something new on each visit. For people with food allergies or special diets, Epcot offers many amazing restaurants with international chefs ready to serve you. Many can meet the needs of most individuals. There are full service and quick service restaurants, food kiosks, and festival booths – depending on the time of year. Today, we are going to discuss our recent quick-service, Tangierine Café gluten-friendly meal.
Now, you might think that there would be many options at this pleasant Mediterranean restaurant in Morocco. However, items like the lamb and chicken shawarma do contain gluten. We actually had very few choices but were still able to share a plentiful meal that would have been too much for only one of us to consume.
The Moroccan Kefta Wrap features seasoned ground beef “patties” that are grilled. If you get it without the bread, turning it into a platter, you can have a delicious gluten-friendly meal. Since only one of us is gluten-free, when we ordered our Tangierine Café gluten-friendly meal, we asked for the bread on the side. The manager on duty was happy to assist us.
Many of the side dishes also contain gluten, making them not doable for anyone with an allergy or on a paleo or keto diet. In the end, we opted for the beef patties on a bed of lettuce, with some marinated olives, lentil salad, hummus, and tomato salsa. The tabouleh contains gluten, so that was also a no-go.
If you are concerned about cross-contamination, such as with a food allergy, I would recommend selecting a different restaurant. However, if your reason to go gluten-free is based on preference and not medical, the choice is yours. I will say that the food was delicious and very fresh tasting. For $14 for the two of us to share, our Tangierine Café gluten-friendly meal was a worthwhile investment.
