Liberty Tree Tavern Gluten-Free Dinner
The Liberty Tree Tavern gluten-free dinner at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is a great option for families looking for easy meals. The restaurant is located right in the heart of Liberty Square. When entering, guests are transformed into a colonial world full of American history. It is like going back in time. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious with amazing quick service from waiters.
The menu is set up as a giant Thanksgiving-style dinner, with three courses. At lunch, you can order the full dinner meal, or select an entrée a la carte. After this amazing birthday feast, I look forward to going back again one day for lunch.
Traditionally, the meal starts with a tossed mixed greens salad that comes with a honey vinaigrette dressing that is gluten-free. A substitute for the dressing can be made with balsamic vinaigrette and oils brought to the table for guests to mix. For those looking for a gluten-friendly option, the salad comes without croutons. When dining regularly, guests receive all platters served family style. You can ask for more of any item you wish, even for special diets. You can compare my salad with the one served family-style for my friend.
I also received a plate of Ener-G gluten-free rolls and butter (the same rolls are the base for the GF stuffing). They also carry Udi’s sliced bread if you prefer that as an option.
Liberty Tree Tavern Gluten-Friendly Main Course
The main course of the meal involves roasted turkey breast, pot roast, and oven-roasted pork with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb stuffing, and house-made macaroni and cheese. Chef Jen, who was terrific, had substitutions for every item on the menu. There were three of us dining that day, myself, my friend who could eat anything on the menu, and my mother, who is sticking with a paleo diet. Each of us had a fantastic meal. I am including photos of my friend’s regular meal so that you can compare it to my GF offerings.
My Liberty Tree Tavern gluten-free dinner was brought to the table and included every menu item as gluten-free. I was extremely excited to be able to have stuffing and macaroni and cheese, two of my favorite things. The stuffing was delicious, and I would have never known the difference. I also enjoyed the GF turkey grave that came on the side. The macaroni and cheese (Amy’s brand) was very cheesy and gooey, and a huge portion was provided. Every bit of the meal was flavorful and was the epitome of comfort food.
For those who are also dairy-free, they use Earth Balance for the mashed potatoes. The allergy-friendly gravy they make, which is GF, does contain brown sugar and corn syrup solids.
My Gluten-Friendly Dessert at Liberty Tree Tavern
If dinner did not fill me enough (which it did), I was provided with a gluten-free brownie a la mode. A candle on the top helped me make my birthday wish. A dining companion was given a plate of fresh fruit for dessert that we all could share – and still not finish. The brownie was warm, gooey, and chocolaty. It was also large in size. I was thrilled to be able to find a brownie that was so delicious and followed my allergy constraints. I am also including a photo of the traditional dessert – the Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake for comparison.
Liberty Tree Tavern gluten-free dinner went beyond my expectations, ensuring that my meal was just as good as any other dinner guest and I was stuffed to the brim with delicious food. I highly recommend this dining experience for allergy-friendly guests and families.
